Pro-Life Flag Project team members are reaching out to any and all organizations that want to see an end to abortion. We’re spreading the word about our project to pro-life groups like yours and getting affirmative responses that YOU want to be a part of the next big thing in the pro-life movement. This project will require coordination and cooperation to be effective, and we want to know that your organization is onboard!

Design Phase
Design Phase ~ May 24, 2021 - July 5, 2021
Promote the Design Contest ~ 4 Weeks ~ may 24, 2021 - June 19, 2021
We’re asking YOU to help us raise awareness about the design contest (and the thousands of dollars of prize money!) by promoting it to your followers through emails, social media, meetings, etc. While the submission period for the Professional Contest will not start for another six weeks, we want to start advertising early so that interested pro-lifers have ample time to develop their designs. Pro-Life Flag Project has outlined some basic guidance on certain symbolic elements we hope to see incorporated into the design, but the design creation will ultimately be left to the contestants.
Open the Professional Design Contest for Submissions ~ 8 days ~ june 20, 2021 - june 28, 2021
Pro-Life Flag Project will open the Professional Design Contest through the design website, 99designs.com. We want to use an official online contest for a couple reasons: 1) 99designs.com is a reputable contest-hosting website with a structured and proven system, 2) we want to garner participation from professional designers who may not have heard about the contest in the initial promotion period but who do monitor online contests like these.
Select the Finalists ~ 4 days ~ june 29, 2021 - july 2, 2021
Pro-Life Flag Project team members and leaders of our partner organizations will sift through all the design submissions and narrow them down to roughly six finalists. We will judge entries based on aesthetics, professionalism, symbolism, recognizability, and a general subjective sense of “Could this be THE design to represent the pro-life movement?”
Refine the Finalists ~ 3 days ~ july 3, 2021 - july 5, 2021
We will work closely with the finalists for several days to refine their designs. These will be small tweaks to clean up the designs or to modify a small aspect that we think will make their designs better reflect and represent the entire pro-life movement.
Voting Phase
Voting Phase ~ July 7, 2021 - July 23, 2021
Open the Final Design Poll ~ July 7, 2021
The team at Pro-Life Flag Project will share an online poll displaying all of the finalists and a means by which voters can vote for their favorite design. The poll will be short, to-the-point, and easy-to-navigate to minimize inconvenience to voters, thereby increasing the number of responses.
Promote the Final Design Poll (and Vote!) ~ 2 weeks ~ july 7, 2021 - july 19, 2021
For two weeks, we’re asking YOU to share the poll with your followers so that we can reach as many pro-lifers around the country as possible. We want to hear the voice of the whole pro-life movement! Also, during this time…go and vote yourself!
Conduct a runoff vote on the top three designs ~ 3 Days ~ July 20, 2021 - July 22, 2021
For three days, we’ll run a vote on the top three designs to further confirm the movement’s voice.
Select the Winner ~ 2 days ~ July 22, 2021 - july 23, 2021
Based on the results from the poll, we will declare the winner of the design contest and the future symbol of the pro-life movement. During this period, Pro-Life Flag Project will acquire the official design files from 99designs and secure a license on the design such that any pro-life non-profit organization may freely copy, reproduce, promote, and sell any products containing the design. We want pro-life non-profits to face no obstacles in using and promoting the design.

Utility Phase ~ July 24, 2021 - Beyond
Create the Flag and Merchandise
Create! Manufacture! Brand! Be Creative! With the only restriction being that the design alone may not be used as an organization’s official logo, pro-life non-profits are encouraged to use the symbol in whatever ways they think will help promote their organization and, ultimately, aid the pro-life movement as a whole.
Promote the Flag and Merchandise
In the end, we want you to use the design that you helped create. Let’s make this symbol as prominent and well-known as the rainbow flag. Let’s put it on bumper stickers, t-shirts, lapel pins, hats, and flagpoles. With the wide reach that pro-life organizations have, we can create an America so full of the pro-life flag that every day, millions of people will be reminded of the reality of abortion and of the determined pro-life movement that fights to abolish it.
